Ice Age 4

I just saw Ice Age 4 with my host family, and Lucille's friend Morgan. It was soooo much fun! I only understood a little of it because there were no french subtitles at the movies, but I used my imagination, and I could see what was happening. AHHHHH!!! Also on the report for today, I went to my school and got my books for the year. I have 7 textbooks!!!!! That is for the whole year, but 7!!! The actual classes I have are as follows: French (like our English), English (hehehe :P), Geographie, History, Math, Science (Physics I think), and Economic and Social Sciences. Those are just my regular classes. I don't know my electives yet, but Camila, the student from Brazil, is taking what we call Ceramics/ Art class, and I hope I can too!!! I really hope I pass my classes! I also went around the school with my mom, and she showed me the basic structure of the school. There are 6 buildings!!!! The Administration, Classes, Science Building, Cafeteria, and two other buildings I don't remember what was in them... Anyway, It was really fun! After that, and before Ice Age 4, I walked around Villefranche (were my school is) with my mom, sister, and sister's friend. I took lots of pictures of the Pastry Shop, Meat Shop, Bred Shop, and Cheese Shop. I am telling you, there are some cheeses that look like pigs wouldn't even eat them! I got a small cake from the pastry shop. It is a vanilla inside sponge/mousse thing, with a chocolate mousse outerlayering, with fig on the bottom and vanilla cake below that. On top, there was a little dollup of fig with a piece of white chocolate. IT'S AMAZING!!! My mom got a macaroon. Boooring :P I got a nice necklace too. Overall it was a good day :)

A Fun Day in Lyon

I spent the day in Lyon today! It was really, really fun! The French eat a really big lunch and a small dinner, so for lunch I had Grilled Salmon, and rice, and vegetables, and for dessert I had chocolate cake. I later had ice cream. I'm not hungry for dinner at all! We have dinner at about 8 in France. I went to Lyon with Camila (the Brazilian exchange student) and her host mom, my host mom, and my host sister and her friend. Then we went shopping and I bought my first thing. A blue purse, bag thing for school. I looked in all the stores and couldn't find what I wanted, and then we went to a store called Accessoires (accessories) and there was finally a blue bag that was big enough for school! I was sooooo happy! Camila bought some sunglasses, they were french and she was happy; we spoke a lot of english (it was a break from the french and she also wanted to practice her english). Lucille (my host sister) bought some eyeliner and a pink t-shirt from Hollister. My host mom bought Lucille a pink and brown sweater, they were very cute for Lucille; and Camila's host mom bought both Camila and me a lipstick of our choice in color. I got a glossy red color and Camila got a glossy pink color. It was really nice, and we thanked her mom a lot. I'm back at the house now about to eat dinner with my family. I love them sooo much!

My First Night in France

I spent my first night in my host house last night! I will show pictures of my room, but It's soooo cool! It's also a little weird. Like, the toilet is not in the bathroom, but in a room of its own. I knew that, but it's still weird. And they have some BLACK toilet paper. Black. Toilet Paper. Black. That's just weird. And the toilet flusher is a button on the wall that you have to hold down. And the sink is the size of two bananas put together. It's so small! They do have amazing food here though. I usually don't eat green beans because I don't like them, but we had some for lunch yesterday, they were cooked with onions and they were amazingly good! For dinner they had some kind of pizza like thing, and it had mushrooms on it, and I liked it! I don't usually like mushrooms, so it was a little weird to be eating mushrooms. Also, my pins started to fall apart again! The crazy glue didn't work, so I'm going to have to use the hot glue that's in my suitcase...... But my suitcase is still in Paris. !!!!!!!!! I'm getting it today, but I don't have anything! It's still weird that NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH!! I mean, I knew no one was going to be speaking english, but it was still weird. I can see my French getting better already!

Last night in America!!!

This is finally my last night in America!! I'm leaving tomorrow morning at 7:30 for the airport. I'm soooooo excited, yet sooooo scared. Once I think about it, I realize that I'm actually going to live in France! Like really, France!!! Anyway, it was really weird to think how I'm going to France!!! Tomorrow!!!! In 8 hours!

Oh Pins..... :(

So I finally finished my pins this past week, and today when I gave one to Eri (exchange student) they fell apart. Turns out the glue that my dad said would work, didn't. So now while I'm out with my friends, my parents, and American sister, and Japanese sister are all going to re-glue all the pins back to the american flags I made while I'm at my friends 18th birthday party. Happy Day for them! :P

Flight Schedule In!

I finally got my flight schedule from my travel agent! I'm going to be in the airport/plane for 24 hours!!!! I leave at 11:15 Monday the 27th. I land in Charlotte, North Carolina at !:27. I stay in the Charlotte airport for 3 hours! I depart at 4:40 for Paris. I land at 6:55 AM (!!!!!) Tuesday morning. I stay in the airport for another 3 and a half hours!!! I depart from Paris at 10:25 and land in Lyon (FINALLY!!) at 11:35. What a plan! I've heard that some of the families like to go out and show you around town right when you get there. Hopefully mine will let me sleep! I won't complain though, because that as been known to have bad consequences long term. Anyway, I'm finally done packing my room up for our next exchange student, Eri, who's going to be staying in my room for a few months. There is nothing in the shelves, in the closet, in the drawers, anywhere! It's so empty the room echos!!! I have a little drawer with clothing for the next week, and everything else is either packed in boxes to be stored in the attic, or in my suitcases to be brought to France with me. I vacuum packed my bathing suit with some other clothing for my suitcase, and I just went swimming yesterday and I had to unpack it. It was sooooo wrinkly!!! I'm going to have to do A LOT of ironing when I get to my host house :(. I'll have pictures up soon, and until then, au revoir!
